How does an Alternating Air Pressure Mattress work?
The alternating pressure mattress features air cells that periodically redistribute pressure by repeatedly loading and unloading the pressure beneath the body. This creates movement which alleviates pain from bed sores and ulcers. With a constant flow of cool dry air, this accelerates the healing of pressure sores.

How to use Meridian SatinAir Alternating Pressure Low Air Loss Mattress & Pump?
How to install?
- Place pump on horizontal surface or hang it by means of the hook.
- Open mattress on the bed. Secure it with end flaps or straps. Air tubes must be at foot end of bed.
- Connect air feed tubes to air outlet on the mattress and pump, ensuring that the tubes are not kinked or twisted. Allow space for bed rails to drop freely.
- Turn on the pump power. The indicator of the power switch will come on. The pump starts to pump air into the mattress.
- The Low Pressure indicator (yellow) will come on as inflation undergoes.
- For first inflation, we recommend that you press Static button to enter a quick operation.
- When the pressure reaches the preset level within approximately 30 minutes, the Normal Pressure indicator will come on, and the Low Pressure indicator will turn off.
- Turn the Pressure Adjust Knob to set a comfortable pressure level from soft to firm.
- Press the Static button to set it in static mod, and the Static indicator will come on. The static mode will be started within approximately 6 minutes.
- Press the Static button again to switch back to alternating mode.
Note: In static mode, the mattress provides a firm surface that makes it easier for the patient to transfer or reposition. The static mode prevents the patient from bottoming out when in a sitting position.
How to operate?

- Normal Pressure Indicator
- A visible indicator (green) tells the pressure has reached a preset or user-defined level.
- Low Pressure Indicator
- A visible indicator (yellow) tells the pressure has reached a preset or user-defined level.
- Static Control
- Press to net the air mattress either in static mode.
Emergency CPR Operations:
- CPR most be performed on the firm surface.
- Therefore, if an emergency CPR situation occurs with the resident on the mattress, the mattress must be quickly deflated.
- This is done by quickly pulling on the CPR tag located at the head of the mattress on the resident's right side.
- The quick Connector found from the pump unit can also be disconnected to hasten deflation.

Meridian brand product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for one year on the pump and mattress.
This device was built to exacting standards and carefully inspected prior to shipment. Your Meddian product is warranted to be free of defects in materials and workmanship. If within such warranty period, the product proves defective, the product will be repaired or replaced, M the option of Compass Health Brands.
This warranty does not cover device failure due to owner misuse or negligence, or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend re nondurable components, which are subject to normal wear and need periodic replacemem.
This warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial number has been removed or defaced, or to defects or damages caused by unauthorized parts, attachments or repairs, negligence, accident, or any circumstance beyond Compass Health Brands' control, such as improper operation, maintenance or storage.
