The Dynarex Semi-Electric Homecare Bed is a heavy-duty bed frame made of reinforced steel for long-lasting use. Motorized electric adjustment is available for the head and foot position for customizable patient comfort and support. This Semi-Electric Homecare Bed is a multi-function, height-adjustable bed frame. With the push of a button, a lightweight hand pendant controls head and foot position. In the event of a power outage, a 9-volt battery located in the motor provides adjustment. The bed motor can be removed while the patient is still in the bed, and most bed frame components have a universal fit that works with a variety of manufacturers. The split-frame design makes the bed simple to deliver and install in most homes. This product is ideal for a variety of home care settings.

What to buy with Dynarex Semi-Electric Hospital Bed

How to assemble Semi Electric Home Care Bed - Dynarex

Prior to connecting the two frames

  1. Remove the clevis and cotter pins from the U-shaped bracket on both sides of the drive shaft at the foot section.
  2. Align the U-shaped bracket with the holes on the lifting plate and insert the clevis pin through the mounting hole.
  3. Secure the clevis pin with cotter pin. Repeat step 2 and 3 on the other side.
  4. Repeat the procedures on the head section

Connecting the two frames

  1. Remove the bolts fastened to the sides of the Foot Spring Section near the connecting end of the frame.
  2. Place the Head Spring Section on its side to your left with the center mounting hooks to the right.
  3. Place the Foot Spring Section on its side to your right with the head frame pull tube at the top of the assembly and the center mounting rivets facing to the left.
  4. The crank handles and/or motors should be at your right.
  5. The head and foot springs should now be on their sides at approximately a 90° angle to one another.
  6. Hook the head spring center mounting hooks to the foot spring center mounting rivets.
  7. After head and foot springs are connected, slowly open the frame sections into a horizontal (straight) position while still on their sides. Make sure the hooks remain engaged on the rivets at all times.
  8. Lay the bed flat with the springs facing up.

Installing the casters

  1. Position the two locking casters so they will be diagonally opposite from one another when the bed is assembled.
  2. Insert the shaft of the caster into the caster socket of each bed leg. Ensure the stem is fully inserted into the socket.
  3. To prevent excess movement of the bed during assembly, lock each of the two locking casters by pushing down on the caster lock.
Note: Locking the casters may not prevent the bed from moving on slick or slippery surfaces.
  4. To unlock the two locking casters, pull up on the caster lock.

Installing the headboard and footboard

  1. Stand the headboard section as close to the head frame as possible.
  2. Raise the head frame until the rivets on the corner plates of the head frame fit into the corner locks on the headboard. The headboard may need to be tilted backward slightly for the rivets to slide into the locks.
  3. Return the headboard to its full upright position to lock it into place.
  4. Insert a clevis pin through the hole between the two rivets to lock the platform and the head frame together. Secure the pin with an R-clip. Repeat the procedure on the other side.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for the “Footboard” section.
  6. Re-insert the bolts that were removed from the Foot Spring Section under Step 1 of “Connecting the two frames”, secure with nuts.
