Frequently Asked Questios
Are thermometer probe covers necessary?
If you do not have a disposable probe tip cover on the thermometer, it can provide a faulty reading, as well as expose the sensor to damage. We advise only using this thermometer with a disposable probe tip cover on it.
Can you use ear thermometer without covers?
The ear thermometer is calibrated with a probe cover intact. If the cover is missing or broken, the thermometer will register a high reading. As the infrared sensor is extremely sensitive to conductive heat forces, it can be affected by the heat from the ear canal walls.
Can you reuse thermometer probe covers?
Use a new disposable cover for each use; do not reuse disposable covers. If you don't have a cover, clean the thermometer after each use as advised by the manufacturer.
