How to Use Post Filteration Bags?

Preparation

1. Wash your hands with soap and warm water
2. Fill a clean container with distilled or boiled tap water
3. Slowly immerse a narrow end of the filter bag into the water
4. Once the bottom quarter (1/4) is wet, slowly immerse the entire bag, squeezing gently to remove air
5. If the bag “puffs up,” you are immersing it too quickly
6. After the bag has been immersed, remove from the water and rinse it by pouring more distilled or boiled tap water over the bag to remove any carbon fines (dust)

Installation

1. Be sure carbon is evenly distributed within the bag, then place the bag in the filter compartment
2. Replace the cover on compartment and place lid onto the carafe
3. Discard the first gallon of distilled water as it may contain some harmless carbon fines
