How to Use Swedish Knee Brace?

1. Undo snaps and loosen straps
2. With the patient seated and knee slightly flexed, place a brace on the leg
3. Position posterior band behind knee and thigh strap above patella
4. Slide the end of the thigh strap on to brace and secure the snap
5. Repeat with the calf strap

Adjustments

1. The strap behind the knee can be loosened or tightened to decrease or increase control of the knee
2. Remove the screw and reposition it in a different location
3. The position of the knee brace on the leg can be moved a little proximally or distally in order to comfortably distribute pressures
4. The aluminum frame can be carefully re-shaped

• Use caution when having the patient stand, and evaluate the fit and function of the brace
• Check knee stability
• Clean with a damp cloth. Air dry completely before reapplying
