Thermovent T Heat & Moisture Exchanger is used to provide humidification and filtration of inhaled air for patients who are intubated or have a tracheostomy. It is designed to replace the natural function of the upper airway in warming and humidifying inspired air. The Thermovent T HME consists of a small, lightweight, and compact housing that is placed between the patient's airway and the ventilator circuit or oxygen source. It features a hydrophobic membrane that captures and retains exhaled moisture and heat, which is then transferred to the inhaled air.
