How to apply QiVi Automated Urine Management?
- Power Connection
- Place the suction unit next to the bed or chair.
- Select the appropriate plug according to your region and connect it to adapter by aligning it with the adapter and rotating clockwise.
- Plug the power adapter pin into the device outlet and the adapter plug into a power outlet.
- Suction Canister Placement
- Place the canister in the suction unit and press down firmly on the lid to ensure the lid is sealed.
- Catheter Connection
- Connect the Pump tube connector to the port labelled ‘Vacuum’ on canister lid and the other end of Pump tubing to the port on the suction unit.
- Connect one end of the Drainage tubing to the urine inlet port labelled as ‘PATIENT’ on the canister lid and the other end to the external urine management device.
- Ensure all the connections are secure. Turn the device on by pressing the ON/OFF switch. The indicator light on the switch will start to glow.

1. How should we position the QiVi AUM?
Ensure the device is placed on a flat surface. It can easily fit on most bedside tables and nightstands. Make sure it is positioned near you while you sleep for optimal convenience. The device should be stationary while in use, it is not designed to be used in transit.
2. When do we need to empty the canister?
The maximum capacity of the canister is 1000ml. Emptying the canister before sleeping is advised to avoid leakage at night.
3. Do we need to clean the canister daily?
The suction canister, canister lid, and tubes should be cleaned and disinfected at the time of each use, or at least once each day.
4. How to clean the canister?
Wear gloves when handling soiled accessories. Rinse the canister, lid, and tubes in soapy cool water, using a brush to remove dirt. Rinse thoroughly with cool water, then pat dry with a lint-free towel. Inspect for debris and repeat cleaning if necessary. Submerge in 70% isopropyl alcohol and flush through tubes, then air dry completely.
5. Do you have larger tubing?
No, we have only 1 size available for the tubing of about 1.8m.
6. How often do we need to replace the canister and tubing?
Patients are suggested to replace the suction canister and tubing for each patient per facility protocol or at least every 30 days, whichever is sooner.
7. Is QiVi AUM compatible with any specific catheters?
QiVi AUM is compatible with all external catheters
8. What happens if there is a spillage on the device?
If spillage has occurred on any device connection it is advised to discontinue use of the device. However, minor condensation within the suction unit tube is normal and should not impact the device function.
9. How should we empty the canister?
Lift the suction canister from the base. Do not lift the canister by the lid. Take the canister into an area appropriate for disposal.
10. Can I use a different adapter?
No. No other adapter should ever be used with the AUM device except for the one provided in the box.
11. Is it battery-operated or not?
No, it is not battery-operated, works on the power source.
12. What if the device has overflowed?
If the canister has overflowed, there is a possibility that the device's electronics could be damaged. Please inform a company representative for further solution.
