How does It Work?
Medline manual hydraulic patient lift features a U-shaped base, an overhead bar, and a sling that work together to lift, reposition, and lower a patient into a chair or bed. This manual lift for patients can greatly reduce the amount of physical strain experienced by both caregivers and patients.
How to Assemble this Hydraulic Patient Lifter?
- Insert mast in base sleeve. Ensure the notch on the mast end fits over the bolt at the bottom of the sleeve. The mast must lock into position in the base sleeve, making it impossible to rotate.
- Double-check to be sure the mast cannot rotate. Make certain boom points in the same direction as the base legs. Thread the mast safety lock and stud into a threaded hole in the mast sleeve. Tighten firmly, locking the mast into the base. Keep mast and base locked at all times except when removing mast from base for storage.
- Insert the boom end into the hole in the yoke hinge at the top of the mast. Fasten the bolt and nut. Be certain the hex of the bolt head fits into the formed hex on side of the hinged and that the plastic washer is an underlock nut.
- Attach the hydraulic pump to boom.
- Cradle/Swivel Bar Attachment.
- Remove the nut and bolt from the cradle.
- Hold the cradle in position at the end of the boom and align the holes of the pin and cap with the holes in the boom end fork.
- Insert supplied bolt and washer through boom fork, cradle cap, and pin. Washers must be placed outside the fork under the bolt head and under the nut. Place a nut on the bolt, and secure it tightly.
- Swivel cradle to check for free movement.
- Attach the adjusting lever handle to the base.
- Wheel locks are provided on two casters for parking. To lock casters, step on the cam lever onside of the caster. To unlock, step on the off lever.
