How does Med-E-Lert Locking Automatic Pill Dispenser work?
Automatic medication dispensers are essentially a "pillbox with timer." Pills are arranged in trays or compartments according to a schedule that meets the doctor’s prescription order. The medications are accessible when the time for the administration arrives. Many of these devices are also pill dispensers with alarms. The alarm notifies the patient or caregiver when it is time to administer the medication. As an automatic pill dispenser for seniors, these dispensing devices remind patients when to take their pills. As auto pill dispensers for children, these medication dispensing machines prevent youngsters from accessing tablets too early. This timed medication dispenser helps to ensure patient compliance to avoid adverse drug events.
- New 1.0 Premium Model Improvements - The New and improved most recently released edition also features the following:
- New Key Lock Mechanism
- New Efficient Tray Rotation
- Improved Tray Alignment
- Updated Alarm Cut-Off Switch
- Programmable Audible and Flashing Alerts - MedELert comes with programmable alerts to notify patients when a medication dosage is due. When the administration time arrives, the specified pill compartment for that time period is automatically unlocked, and an audible alarm sounds.
- Easy Pill Management - The MedELert pill dispenser is an advanced electronic pill organizer that locks medications from the patient until the correct time arrives for dosing. Customize dosing combinations from once a day to six times a day:
- Once daily medication dispensed for 28 days
- Twice daily medication dispensed for 14 days
- Three times daily medication dispensed for 9 days
- Four times daily medication is dispensed for 7 days
- Five times daily medication dispensed for 5 days
- Six times daily medication dispensed for 4 days
- Locking Mechanism: The MedELert system comes with a locking system that releases medications on a timed schedule. Once locked, the medications are set on a timer for dispersal. Patients only gain access to the medication when it's time, protecting them from accidental overdoses.
