How to use McKesson Non-Sterile Unna Boot?

  • Clean and dry the affected leg.
  • Measure the length of dressing needed and cut to size.
  • Unroll the dressing and apply the zinc oxide paste side directly to the skin of the leg.
  • Begin wrapping the dressing around the leg, starting at the base of the toes and working upwards towards the knee.
  • Overlap each layer by approximately 50% to ensure proper compression.
  • Continue wrapping the dressing around the leg until the entire affected area is covered.
  • Secure the dressing in place with a cohesive bandage or medical tape.
  • Check the dressing regularly to ensure that it is not too tight and is not causing any discomfort.

Contraindications:

  • Patients with a known hypersensitivity tothe product itself or to its components, including zinc oxide orcalamine.
