How to use DMI Wood Transfer Board

Using for Wheelchair

Mostly, these boards are used for transfer between bed and wheelchair. You can follow the below-mentioned steps for a comfortable and safe transfer from bed to a wheelchair:

1. Sit on the edge of the bed with feet flat on the floor.
2. Place the wheelchair very close to the bed and lock the wheels of the chair.
3. Place one end of the board below your thigh. Leaning in the opposite direction from the board can make placing the board easier.
4. Keep the other end of the board on the wheelchair seat.
5. For easy movement on the board, use a fabric sheet and carefully move your body towards the second surface.
6. Once completely settled on the wheelchair, you can remove the transfer board.

Using for a car

1. Take the help of the caregivers to assist you while moving into the car
2. Before moving into the car, make sure that the car seat is moved as far back as possible so that you get enough space to move.
3. Take the support of the door to sit comfortably.
4. Place one leg at a time in the car.
5. After proper positioning in the car seat, remove the board.
