How to Use 3M Surgical Drapes?

Prep and thoroughly dry lids and lashes
Unfold drape
- Assistant to hold the lower edge taut, not touching the face
- Surgeon to grasp drape on the sterile surface with index fingers and thumbs
Position the edge of the aperture approximately 5 mm below the upper lid margin
- Press on lashes and lid margin
- Draw, drag or pull the lid open
- Secure adhesive by pressing down
Repeat with the lower lid
Adjust any lateral wrinkles in the drape
Assess exposure
Apply speculum
