Indications for using Juzo Varin Prosthetic Stump Shrinker

• The stump compression garment is used when the venous and lymphatic vessel structure or function on the amputation stump has been compromised to reduce oedema and minimize changes in the volume of the stump after the prosthesis has been removed
• Refrain from using the stump shrinker if there's an open wound in the area to be treated. Before using the juzo leg stump garment, ensure the wound area is covered properly with the appropriate wound dressing

How to wear Juzo Leg stump garment

1. Pull the stocking over your forearm and hold it from the inside with your fingers. Turn the stocking inside out, except for the stocking end. Refer to (Fig. 1)
2. Using both hands, make two-layer folds of sock in the area of the stocking end and stretch the opening and insert the stump till the end of the knitted fabric sits around the stump end. Refer to (Fig. 2)
3. Slide the stocking up your leg evenly and free from creases keeping flat hand. Refrain from twisting or pulling on the edges of the garment, so it fits snugly around your leg. Before donning, fold the silicone seam over. Refer to (Fig. 3)

Caring for your Juzo Shrinker Sock

• It is recommended to turn the compression garment inside out before washing them
• When washing the garment for the first time, clean it separately as it may lose color
• If possible, wash the compression garment daily on a delicate wash cycle with a water temperature of 40°C
• Do not use fabric softener; instead, you can use the gentle Juzo special detergent. When hand washing, rinse the garment well and do not wring
• Do not leave the stump in the towel or dry it on a radiator or in the sun. Hang up the compression garment loosely

Precautions Using Juzo Varin Leg Stump Below Knee

• Protect from sunlight and keep in a dry area
• The Standard Juzo products have an expiration date of six months and a maximum shelf life of 36 months
• Re-measurement and the supply of a new product may be necessary sooner, before the six-month usage period is up if the measurements of the body part being treated significantly alter (for instance, due to therapeutic success or weight change)
