Enemeez Plus Mini Enema contains a delivered dose of 283mg of docusate sodium and an additional 20mg of benzocaine in a polyethylene glycol base and is dispensed using a soft latex-free tube. The tube has a twist off tip that leaves a smooth surface at the point of insertion. Enemeez is effective for bowel care needs associated with spinal cord injury and disease, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, spina bifida, long-term care, stroke and constipation.

More On Enemeez Plus Mini Enema

Indication for use:

  • Twist off and remove tip
  • Place water or a few drops of the product on the shaft of the tube to lubricate prior to insertion
  • Lubricants be applied to the anus before inserting the enema
  • With steady pressure, gently insert the enema into the rectum with care to prevent damage to the rectal wall. Squeeze to empty the contents
  • Keep the tube squeezed until it is removed from the rectum
  • After the contents have been emptied, remove the disposable tube and discard


Active Ingredient (in each tube)

  • Docusate sodium 283mg stool softener
  • Benzocaine 20mg topical anesthetic


Inactive ingredients

  • Glycerine
  • Polyethylene glycol


Positioning:

  • For best results, lay on left side with knees bent 
  • Second Position: Kneel, then lower head and chest forward until side of face is resting on the surface


Caution:

  • Discontinue use if resistance is encountered. Forcing the enema may result in injury or damage to the rectum. If product is not administered properly and occasional rectal examinations are not performed, serious complications can arise
  • Adults and children 12 years of age and older (with adult supervision), one to three units daily. 
  • Children under 12 years of age, consult a physician prior to use


Precautions:

  • Individuals with sensitivity to Benzocaine should not use this product
  • If rectal irritation or a rash around the anus appears, the enemas should be discontinued
  • Prolonged administration together with mineral oil should be avoided


Warnings:

  • Do not use laxative products when abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting are present nor for a period longer than 1 week unless directed by a doctor 
  • If you have noticed a sudden change in bowel habits that persists over a period of 2 weeks, consult a doctor before using a laxative 
  • Rectal bleeding or failure to have a bowel movement after use of a laxative may indicate a serious condition 
  • Should not be used when open sores are present
  • Discontinue use and consult your doctor
