Dexcom G6 Sensor is a small, thin device that is inserted just under the skin of the abdomen, back of the upper arm, or upper buttocks. It uses a tiny filament to measure glucose levels in the interstitial fluid (the fluid that surrounds cells) every five minutes. The sensor sends this data wirelessly to a receiver or compatible smartphone app, where you can view your glucose levels in real time. The Dexcom G6 sensor is FDA-approved for people with diabetes ages 2 and older. It is water-resistant up to 3 feet for 30 minutes, so you can wear it while showering, swimming, or taking a bath. The sensor can also be worn for up to 10 days, which is longer than many other CGM sensors.

The transmitter sends your readings up to every 5 minutes to a compatible smartphone.

The sensor is inside the applicator. Before inserting the sensor, get familiar with its applicator.
