What to Buy with JetStream Cold/Hot Temperature Therapy Unit
JetStream Hot And Cold Therapy Unit Operating Instructions
Cold Therapy
1. Open the latch and lid.
2. Fill the reservoir with cold tap water to WATER FILL LINE marked on the side of the unit’s motor cage.
3. Add ice to the ICE FILL LINE marked on the top of the unit’s motor cage. Note: DO NOT overfill the unit. Condensation may collect on top of the unit if the ice/water level is above the ICE FILL LINE. Larger pieces or amounts of ice will equal longer cooling times.
4. Close and lock the lid.
5. Attach the therapy blanket fittings to the unit hose by inserting the ends of blanket tubes into the hose fittings. Push each fitting together firmly until you hear a “click.” Check for a secure connection by lightly tugging on each hose.
6. After all connections are made, first plug the power adapter into the back of the unit. Then, plug the power adapter into a properly grounded AC electrical wall outlet. Note: Place the unit within the user’s reach so the user can unplug the power adapter with ease.
- Place the therapy blanket over the treatment area with a clear side towards the covered skin and secure it. Follow the directions included with the therapy blankets and wraps sold separately or included in cold therapy unit/blanket combo sets.
- To maximize water flow efficiency, place the unit at or above the therapy blanket (Note: no more than 3 feet) and treatment site level. Avoid twisting or kinking hoses when the unit is running.
- A green light will illuminate, signaling the unit is running.
- If the unit needs additional water and/or ice, unplug the power adapter from the wall, empty any remaining water, and add water to WATER FILL LINE and ice to ICE FILL LINE. With dry hands, plug the power adapter into a properly grounded AC electrical wall outlet and restart the unit.
Hot Therapy
1. Open the latch and lid.
2. Fill the reservoir with hot tap water (not to exceed 120°F/48.9°C) to the ICE FILL LINE marked on the top of the unit’s motor cage. Note: DO NOT overfill the reservoir.
3. Close and lock the lid.
4. Attach the therapy blanket fittings to the unit hose by inserting the ends of blanket tubes into hose fittings. Push each fitting together firmly until you hear a “click.” Check for a secure connection by lightly tugging on each hose.

To Disconnect Unit
- First, unplug the power adapter from the electrical wall outlet. Then, unplug the power adapter from the back of the unit.
- Next, disconnect hose tubes from the unit and therapy blanket by pushing each metal button at connection points.
Cleaning and Storage
- Disconnect the unit and remove it from the patient.
- Drain water/ice from the reservoir by either a) opening the latch and lid and dumping it out or b) opening the latch and lid and unscrewing the drain plug to allow water to flow out automatically.
- Next, use a dry towel to collect any remaining moisture. Tip: When storing the unit, leave a few dry towels in the unit to collect any condensation that may not have been removed when cleaning. Transport and Storage Temperature: -13°F to 158°F (-25°C to 70°C); 93% Maximum Humidity; and Atmospheric Pressure: 700-1060 hPa
- To prevent hose kinking, wrap the hose with the hook and loop closure located on the carrying strap.
