How to use Skin Barrier Rings

1. Removal of the protective backing
   Before applying the moldable ring, ensure that the skin around the stoma is clean and dry. Remove the ring from the plastic packaging and then peel off the protective backing from both sides by holding the removal tabs.


2. Mold the ring
   Mold and stretch the ring to the desired shape.


3. Application
   - Apply the ring to the skin around the stoma. Adjust the shape again if needed. Mold the ring with your fingers so that the edge of the ring is securely smoothed onto the skin.
   - Alternatively, apply the ring to the sticky side of the ostomy barrier and apply the barrier and ring together as one piece.
   - If you use a 2-piece ostomy appliance, it is possible (after you apply the barrier to your skin) to apply the ring directly to the coupling side of the barrier to achieve a snug fit around the stoma.


4. Application of the pouch
   Apply the pouch as normal.

How to Remove Coloplast Barrier Rings?

• After usage, gently remove the moldable ring from the skin by rolling it downward step by step.
• The moldable ring should come off together with the ostomy barrier.
• However, if there is slight residue left on the skin, it will not damage the skin or have an effect on the adhesion of the next moldable ring.

Disposal

• Dispose of any unused product with regular household trash. The product should not be flushed down the toilet.
