How to use Coloplast Sensura Mio Kids Urostomy Pouch

Preparing the One-Piece Urostomy Pouch

1. Cut a hole of the exact fit size and shape to the stoma in the barrier using a pair of small curved scissors following the cutting guide on the barrier. Make sure there's an exact fit between the hole and the stoma to reduce the risk of leakage, skin problems, and injury
2. Lay the pouch on a flat surface with the skin barrier side down and close the outlet opening by folding the bottom of the outlet upwards three times so that the velcro strip becomes visible

3. Fold the two tabs inwards to secure the velcro strip
4. The velcro dot immediately above the outlet or the velcro strip in the middle of the pouch can be used to hide the outlet of the urostomy bag

5. Before applying the barrier, ensure the surrounding skin is completely clean, dry, and free of baby powders and oily substances. Thoroughly clean your hands, the stoma, and the surrounding skin area before applying.

Applying the Coloplast One-Piece Urostomy Pouch

1. Peel off the protective film backing from the barrier and discard it safely out of reach of children
2. To prevent any harm, ensure the barrier does not touch the stoma. Align the hole around the stoma and apply gentle pressure to the barrier to ensure fast adhesion and a soft fit between the adhesive and the skin
3. Apply even pressure to the barrier/pouch on the abdomen, beginning in the area around the stoma, and lightly press the adhesive to the skin. Run a finger around the stoma to ensure that the adhesive seals. Smooth the adhesive by finger, starting from the stoma and moving outwards to the edges, to ensure that the adhesive has made full contact with the skin

Removing the Sensura Mio Kid Pouch

1. Gently remove the pouch by pulling the removal tab on the barrier away from the abdomen and rolling the adhesive slowly downwards
2. Apply light pressure on the skin with your free hand to help remove it
   

Emptying the Coloplast Urostomy Pouch

1. Open the outlet and empty the pouch into the toilet when needed. Clean the outlet, for example, with toilet paper
2. Fold and resecure the outlet after you have emptied the pouch

3. Do not flush the product down the toilet.
