Instructions to use Coloplast SenSura Mio Click Two-Piece Closed Pouch

• Preparation -
  • Cut a hole in the barrier to fit the exact size and shape of the stoma using a pair of small curved scissors and the cutting guide on the barrier
  • Clean the stoma and the surrounding skin area. The skin must be completely dry before application of the barrier.
• Application -
  • Peel off the protective film from the skin barrier
  • Align the barrier around the stoma
  • Apply pressure on the barrier to ensure fast adhesion and a perfect fit between the adhesive and the skin around the stoma.
    Note- The skin barrier must fit snugly around the stoma. To prevent leakage it is important to ensure a tight seal around the stoma. When applying pressure to the barrier/pouch on the abdomen, begin in the area around the stoma and press the adhesive to the skin. Run a finger all the way around the stoma to ensure that the barrier seals. Smooth the barrier down, starting from the stoma and moving outwards to the edges, to ensure that the barrier has made full contact with the skin. Ensure the barrier is dry and clean (When cleaning the barrier only use water). Make sure that the lock ring on the pouch is open. Position the bottom of the pouch coupling at the bottom of the barrier coupling.
  • Press the ostomy pouch and the skin barrier together at the bottom with the middle fingers and with the index fingers, apply gentle pressure to the top of the coupling until the pouch is correctly positioned to the barrier.
  • With the index fingers, apply gentle pressure to the top of the coupling until the pouch is correctly positioned to the barrier.
  • Close the lock ring by pressing the lock together. The pouch is securely attached to the barrier when you hear a ‘click’.
