Features of Medicated Lip Balm

  • Provides a long-lasting protective barrier to help to heal
  • Cools and soothes lips with camphor and menthol
  • Includes lanolin, which replicates the way the lipid bilayer in your skin retains moisture

What are the ingredients of this Lip Balm?

  • Active Ingredients:
    • Camphor 1.70% as an External Analgesic: Camphor is a mild pain and itch reliever. Camphor is a compound that shares many properties with Menthol, such as the cooling effect that temporarily relieves minor itching, irritation and pain.
    • White Petrolatum 45.30% as a Lip Protectant: Very highly refined With a melting point, close to body temperature, petrolatum softens upon application creating an effective barrier that traps the skin’s natural moisture. Petrolatum protects injured or exposed skin from harmful or annoying external sources while also providing relief to the skin, sealing off the skin from water and air allowing the skin to heal itself.
  • Inactive Ingredients:
    • Lanolin: Excellent emollient it helps soften and soothe skin. Lanolin falls into the lipid-rich emollient class of moisturizers. Lanolin forms an oily layer on the top of the skin that traps water in the skin. One of the causes of dry skin is a lack of lipids, which allows water to escape. Lanolin absorbs moisture from the air around it, rejuvenating skin.
    • Cetyl esters: Imparts a lubricous feel and soft gloss. Cetyl Esters act as a lubricant on the skin's surface, giving it a soft and smooth appearance. Cetyl Esters Wax is a skin conditioning agent which helps to lock in the skin’s natural moisture levels, and imparts a smooth, soft, feels to both the product and the skin.
    • Theobroma cacao seed butter: Natural, edible fat obtained from the roasted seeds. Cocoa Butter is composed of a combination of natural fats which makes it an incredible moisturizer. Cocoa Butter slows the loss of water from the skin's surface and the creamy texture of Cocoa Butter makes your skin feel soft and healthy.
    • Beeswax: Natural astringent and moisturizer. All-natural wax that comes from honeybees. Beeswax locks in moisture and helps keep skin plump and firm. Beeswax effectively softens and coats the skin. A naturally nourishing moisturizer.
    • Menthol: Cool and refreshing, invigorating and soothing Menthol fires up cold-sensing nerves in the skin responsible for that well-known cooling sensation known as ‘the tingle’. Obtained from peppermint oil, Menthol refreshes, revitalizes, and enlivens skin.
    • Salicylic acid: Helps to reduce the buildup of dry, dull skin. In very small, yet effective amounts Salicylic Acid helps to gently remove dead, cracked, peeling skin, without damaging the new layer of skin that is constantly renewing itself. This skin cell turnover results in healthy, soft, smooth skin underneath.
    • Phenol: A mild topical pain reliever. Historically, Phenol was the first antiseptic used in surgery. Today, Phenol is recognized by the FDA as a safe and effective topical pain reliever and is used topically to temporarily relieve pain and irritation caused by cold sores and fever blisters.
    • Vanillin flavor
    • Paraffin liquidum
