Bivona Uncuffed Tracheostomy Tubes are made of soft silicone rather than the more common hard PVC plastic. The Bivona line specialises in providing patient comfort by combining the softness, flexibility, and durability of the tube material. Furthermore, the shaft end is soft and rounded to avoid traumatising the throat or tracheal tissue. The cuffless tube is recommended for patients who do not require ventilation and have sensitive tracheal mucosa or a stoma. They are packaged sterile with an obturator, twill trach tie, and cap plug. The obturator has a hollow tip that allows tube exchange over a guidewire. An adult can reprocess the Bivona Uncuffed unit up to ten times.
