Directions to Use The 3M Sacral Foam Dressing

1. Remove dressing from package. Fold dressing in half. Hold the tabs together. Remove the white liner.
2. Spread the buttocks to get better placement. While holding the side tabs, position the dressing over the wound. (Figures 1 & 2)
3. Beginning at the gluteal cleft, gently press the dressing to the skin from the center outward.
4. Avoid stretching the dressing or the skin. (Figure 3)
5. Beginning at the center of the dressing, grasp the blue paper delivery system one section at a time and remove by pulling toward the outer edge of the dressing.
6. Press dressing to conform to the skin. (Figure 4)

Precautions For Using Tegaderm Sacral Dressing

• Do not use Tegaderm Silicone Foam Border Dressing in combination with oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide or hypochlorite solution.
• These solutions may affect the structure and performance of the polyurethane foam.
• Tegaderm Silicone Foam Border Dressing may be used on infected wounds under the care of a health care professional.
• If the wound does not begin to show signs of healing or if any other unexpected symptoms occur, consult a health care professional.
