How to wrap an Ace Bandage with Velcro?

For Knee

1. Begin wrapping the ace band wrap around the leg at the mid-calf level and circle the leg a few times.
2. Wrap the bandage diagonally up behind the knee and then around the leg above the knee joint.
3. Continue wrapping behind the knee diagonally, creating a figure-eight.
4. Repeat these several times. Finish wrapping around the leg above the knee several times.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

For Leg

1. Begin wrapping around the leg just above the ankle.
2. Continue wrapping, progressing up the leg, and overlapping the bandage by one-half of the previous layer.
3. Be sure not to leave any gaps and maintain full coverage.
4. Continue overlapping up the leg, ending at calf level.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

For Shoulder

Note: For best results, we recommend that you get assistance when wrapping a shoulder

1. Start wrapping on the outside of the arm just below the point of injury and wrap a full circle around the back of the arm to secure it in place.
2. Wrap up over the shoulder and across the back and continue under the opposite arm.
3. Pull across the front of the chest and back over the front of the shoulder and around the arm, creating a figure-eight.
4. Repeat wrapping around the arm several times.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

For Ankle

1. Begin wrapping around the ball of the foot at the base of the toes.
2. Continue wrapping around the foot, addressing up the ankle, overlapping each turn by one-half of the previous layer.
3. Be sure not to leave any gaps and maintain complete coverage.
4. Continue overlapping up the leg until mid-calf.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

For Wrist

1. Begin by holding the edge of the bandage between your thumb and forefinger.
2. Start wrapping around the wrist, beginning at the base of the palm and wrapping several times.
3. Wrap diagonally through hand and palm and repeat one to two times.
4. Continue wrapping up the wrist, overlapping by one-half of the previous layer, ending halfway between the wrist and elbow.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

For Elbow

1. Begin wrapping around the midpoint of the forearm.
2. Continue wrapping and progressing up the arm, overlapping by one-half of the previous layer.
3. Be sure not to leave any gaps and maintain full coverage.
4. End wrapping midway up the upper arm.
5. Secure the bandage by gently attaching the hook end, making sure it does not come off easily.

Things to remember while using this elastic bandage wrap

• The Ace Bandage Wrap should be snug but not so tight that it prevents blood flow.
• If the bandage is wrapped around your foot or ankle, check your toes; if it's wrapped around your wrist, check your fingers. The wrap is excessively tight and should be adjusted if it turns purplish or blue, is cool to the touch, or feels numb or tingly.
• Before going to bed, loosen the wrap.
• Protection is not provided by compression bandages. If your ankle is bandaged, for example, you'll need a brace to protect it if you try to put weight on it.
• Between uses, keep the ace bandage clean. Hand-wash it in warm, soapy water. Then rinse it and air dry it.
