- Medical gloves
- Antibiotic ointment
- Gauze Pads or rolls
- A pair of scissors
- Medical Tape
- Saline water
- Non-Stick Gauze
Wash your hands properly and pat them dry before putting on the gloves.
Remove the previous wound dressing very slowly and gently using saline water. You must be careful while doing so; you do not want to hamper the wound.
Now clean the wound with utmost care. Wound cleaning is when the wound site is most prone to getting infected by germs. Therefore, cleaning it in the correct manner is essential. Use gauze pads and saline water to do the cleansing. Do it right after removing the used gauze bandage without any delay.
Let the wound dry for a while (do not leave the wound open for too long).
