How to apply Calcium Alginate Dressing by Abena?

1. Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently
2. Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside
3. A secondary dressing is necessary when using calcium alginates. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors
4. Dampen dressing with sterile water or saline solution to avoid damaging the surrounding skin, then secure it to the wound area

 

Contraindications:

• Not recommended for wounds that need surgery to achieve hemostasis
• Do not use on dry wounds
• Do not use on third-degree burns
• Single product use not to exceed 7 days
