Sage 2 % CHG Cloths are the first FDA-approved cloth-based preoperative skin prep for patients at risk of surgical site infections (SSIs). Premoistened, skin-friendly cloths are intended for use in early preop preparation. According to the CDC, eight pathogens are responsible for 80 % of the most common healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs). Chlorhexidine is widely used to treat skin bacteria and infections. It is a broad-spectrum rapid antiseptic that has been shown to be effective against gram-positive, gram-negative, and fungi bacteria. Sage Cloths containing 2% CHG are quick-acting and alcohol-free.
