How does Molnlycke Mepore Surgical Dressing Work?

• The porous structure of the nonwoven fabric ensures air and water vapor permeability. 
• Fabric is flexible and conforms well to body contours
• The fabric is non-absorbent and provides a water-repellent barrier for blood and fluid strike-through.
• Polyacrylate adhesive has been designed to be gentle to the skin while at the same time providing secure fixation.

How to apply Molnlycke Self-Adhesive Wound Dressing?

1. Remove the outer half of the release film 
2. Gently fixate on the skin at one end of the incision site 
3. Position dressing over the incision site. Do Not Stretch 
4. Remove the remaining half of the release liner and smooth the adhesive border to the skin 
5. To remove, loosen the top edge of the adhesive border and slowly peel the dressing from the skin in the direction of hair growth 
6. Change Mepore as indicated by wound condition or existing protocol 

Precautions to take While Using Molnlycke Mepore Dressing

• Care should be taken to ensure that Mepore is not applied under tension, to prevent shearing force which can cause damage to the skin. This is particularly important when the dressing is applied over joints 
• If the reused performance of the product deteriorates, cross-contamination may occur 
• Sterile. Do not use if the inner package is damaged or opened prior to use. Do not re-sterilize

Contraindications of Mepore Self-adhesive absorbent dressing

Mepore should not be applied to patients who are sensitive to acrylic adhesives or to individuals who have very fragile or easily damaged skin.
