When to use Hollister Wound Drainage Collector Pouch

The pouch is specifically designed to be used for collecting discharge or exudate from fistulas, wounds and irregular/multiple stomas completely dressing the opening.

How to apply Hollister Wound Drainage Pouch?

1. The affected region should be thoroughly washed or cleaned before applying a collector irrigated with the proper wound cleansing agent. The skin must be clean and dry for correct and secure application
2. Cut a hole in the collector after selecting the right size of  an adhesive patch or skin barrier that matches the edge of the wound. Do not cut beyond the line shown on the release paper
3. Remove the skin barrier or adhesive's release paper
4. The collector should be centered above the wound spot
5. To get rid of all wrinkles, smooth the barrier against the skin. By gentely moving your fingers round the edges of the skin barrier
6. Press firmly around the access cap's edge while supporting the gasket with your fingers behind it in order to close the cap. The cap is securely fastened when there is an audible "snap" sound
7. Separate the plastic tabs on the access cap to open it
8. Remove the cover from the convenience drain stem and drain the collected fluid in the designated container to empty the collector

Warnings and Precautions using Hollister Drainage Pouching System

• For continuous drainage, drain tubing can be connected to the convenience drain and channeled into an end collector
• The border of the access cap should be clean of any wound drainage before it is closed. When not in use, the access cap must be entirely shut
• Check the convenience drain cap is closed before continuing the application
